Saturday, August 1 – David Rides Cape Cod
David rode a loop on Cape Cod, much of it on the Sunday PMC Route

Jersey, Socks, Water Bottle, Pennant
Garmin Connect Map
Route is clockwise from the green blob at Hyannis Port. From Brewster up to the Seashore in Wellfleet and back to Yarmouth on the Cape Cod Rail Trail, otherwise on town roads. Average moving speed was 14.5 mph, the 10.7 mph in the window includes all stops.
Ready to Roll
Keep an eye out for the same jersey on other riders
A beautiful morning at the beach
Cotuit Road, Sandwich
About 15 miles into the ride, looking for the support vehicle (that isn’t coming this year) to fix the flat. Thankfully the tools in the saddle bag worked as intended and this was only a 15 minute or so delay.
Top of the Service Road, Sandwich
Normally a torrent of PMCers coming towards you here on PMC Day 2, giddy for the next few miles of rolling hills
Barnstable County Courthouse Complex
Normally PMC Day 2’s First Waterstop, no one here today
Nickerson State Park, Brewster
Normally jammed with riders as the Second Waterstop on PMC Day 2, only the man next to the pickup truck at left, his riding partner, and David, in PMC Jerseys this day.
From here, turn right to head east then north to Wellfleet.
Cape Cod Rail Trail at Marconi Beach Road
Turn-around point to ride about 86 miles and match a one-day PMC from Wellesley to Bourne
Bob’s Subs, Cone & Pizza – South Wellfleet
With access from both Route 6 and the Rail Trail, a lunch stop with personality
Success – Safely Home
A long, slow, hot day, but not too worse for the wear.
