August 1 - 3, 2003

This year, we again pedaled a "true" Pan-Massachusetts Challenge, showing our continuing strong support for the Jimmy Fund, and its efforts for cancer research and treatment at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Dana-Farber was again ranked #4 nationally for cancer care by US News and World Report in July, 2003.

We started our ride on Friday, August 1 from Canaan, New York, and joined the official PMC in Sturbridge to ride on Saturday, August 2 and Sunday, August 3 all the way to Provincetown. We didn't get lost this year, but David did make an unscheduled detour on Saturday. The weather was cool and wet this year, which spared us from the dangers of heat exhaustion, but also made roads slippery.

This was our fourth PMC. In 2000 and 2001, we rode the regular 192-mile PMC route. In 2002 we rode 302 miles total, adding a day's ride (and a detour through South Hadley, MA) from the NY State Line, to make a "true" Pan Massachusetts ride.
